Just So Hot

It’s been so hot all month, so we’ve been doing lots and lots of swimming at our neighborhood pool. But there is only so much swimming you can do, so we’ve had to find other ways to keep ourselves busy. We’ve made lots of houses. For the boys, houses are made out of pillows and, if we’re being really fancy, we’ll throw some blankets in the mix.

Henry learned it’s fun to dump oatmeal on his head.

Jack got to spend a special day with Grandpa Glen. They had pancakes at Milton’s and then went to the toy store. Jack was hoping he might get a knight costume and surprise… he did! He was pretty excited.

Henry discovered he loves wearing the fire hat.

We went to Kaleidoscope and ate at Fritz’s.

Today, Jack pulled out his current house shoes, and his old pair for Henry and they ran around wearing them and thought it was great. We also got out the rocking horse for Henry and he is finally big enough to ride it. He loved it.

Jack is getting excited to start school again. Today we were switching his calendar for August and putting all the special days on it. As we were labeling the first day of school he said, “I can’t even talk about that day; I am so excited.” He is the most excited to eat lunch at school with his friends and use his new Spiderman water bottle.
